Who makes Babaloo Jewelry?
Every piece is designed and made by hand by Almeta, the founder of Babaloo and an enrolled member of the Nez Perce Tribe, in her studio in Lexington, Kentucky.
Is Babaloo Jewelry Native American owned?
Yes. Babaloo is an Indigenous-owned, woman-owned small business. Almeta was born on the Nez Perce Reservation in Lapwai, Idaho, and her heritage is woven into the brand's designs and materials.
Where is Babaloo jewelry made?
Everything is handmade in the USA, in small batches, in Lexington, Kentucky.
Are your earrings hypoallergenic?
Yes. All earring posts are hypoallergenic and nickel-free, so they are a good choice for sensitive ears.
Are statement earrings heavy?
Not ours. Polymer clay and feathers are naturally lightweight, so even our larger statement earrings are comfortable to wear all day or all night.
What materials do you use?
Polymer clay, feathers, 18k gold leaf, sterling silver, freshwater pearls, silk tassels, brass, shells and beads. Each product page lists the materials for that piece.
Is every piece one of a kind?
Each piece is slow made by hand in small batches, so yours will be very close to the photos but never an exact copy. Feather patterns, gold leaf and clay marbling vary naturally from piece to piece.
How do I care for feather and clay jewelry?
Store your pieces flat in a dry place, and keep feathers away from water, perfume and hairspray. If the feathers become kinked or ruffled hold over steam and gently use your fingers to restore shape. Polymer clay is light and water-resistant; wipe it gently with a soft cloth.
Do you have jewelry for weddings and brides?
